Last Monday we started on my newest ink. Right arm - band of Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are" page where Max and the Wild Things are swinging from the trees...
This was a new experience. Tony wants to reproduce the original as closely as possible, on a reduced scale. That meant it took four hours with a number 3 needle for the outline only - on the FRONT of my arm (actually the backside will be easier, it will just be foliage we pull to fill in - I wanted all of the design on the front). Next Monday will be the start of all the cross-hatching and other line shading. Not sure how long this project will take, but I am guessing somewhere around 15 to 20 hours total.
No pictures this time, it was important for me to enjoy the ink experience without being distracted by trying to be creative with video and/or photographs. As soon as the lines heal, I will try for some pics - look for a new photo gallery soon on this project.
