I remeber planting some of these in my grandmother's garden when I was eight or nine on the advice of one of my early gardening mentors. I liked the name, especially when he shared the fact that the flower's origin was in South Africa. Around here they call them Gerbera Daisy, but the old name sticks with me. No small feat after all these years, especially when I have a hard time remembering where I left my car keys fifteen minutes ago.
beautiful daisy! they are some of my favorite flowers, absolutely beautiful. it's a great pic.
hope all is well on the california front.

Love the color...reminds me of watermelon for some reason.

I added Gerberas to my herb garden last year so that I would have the sunny splash of color. I didn't realize they were called Transvaal daisies. I think this shade is my favorite.

I used to misplace my purse in the house, so I found two places where I could put it, where it was close to hand but out of the way, and I can always find it. Unfortunately, now I've started leaving my shoes in odd places.
Too bad I can't attach one of those things that responds to the clap of my hands. Of course, then I'd be sitting at a concert and my shoes would go off.....
