Moving the Paintball Stuff

Decided to set up a new blog specifically for paintball and airsoft...Jester Airsoft ...

Check it out and let all your paintball or airsoft playing friends know about it.  Thanks!

Paintball Expo

"Where are the promised photos?", you ask.

Like 'em?  Actually, we did make the trip to the Expo; however, there just wasn't much worth taking pictures of.  The new gear and pros of years past were in very short supply.  After breezing through the Expo to get the lay of the land, we looked at one another and came to the agreement that there just wasn't much there.  The exception was Smart Parts .  The new gear line was great - but since the VIP tent was dark and crowded,  my few pictures just were not up to my standard for posting (they must have been pretty bad, eh?).  Smart Parts is issuing a new "Dynasty Ion" that is so very cool - we will get one for the shop and I will put some pics up when it comes in.  For those that do not follow paintball, Dynasty is the best team in pro paintball (those that disagree may flame away).  So anything that we can offer for the fans, well, it sells.

It was pretty cool to see the airsoft folks team up with paintball - even though the offering from the airsoft crowd was small, our good buddies at JAG Precision  had a great booth along with a shooting gallery (Jordan shot the targets under six seconds, not his best time, but "his mask didn't fit very well".  I declined to shoot, so I wouldn't make everyone else feels bad...LOL)

So, the next plan is for us to take a trip to the NPPL  event at Huntington Beach ...that should be worth a gallery or two.

Paintball Rush

Paintball is the fastest growing extreme sport in the USA.  If you have love a great adrenaline rush, you really need to try paintball.  After years of avoiding the game, they finally sucked me into the sport by getting me to shoot some video back in 2002.

When people find out I play paintball it usually generates my favorite question - "does it hurt?".  Answer, not bad enough to make me stop playing!  Sort of like tattoos, only the marks wash off (and the bruises fade).

We now operate a shop selling paintball markers and gear (also airsoft and tactical goodies, but more on that later) so my playing time has been severely reduced.  Of course, the shop provides an opportunity to play with all of that cool gear we only dreamed about when we were just players.  In the next few weeks I will be building a photo gallery around paintball, so check back.  The first pictures should be up next week - we're visiting the big Paintball Expo West this weekend in Pomona, CA - with some of the cool goodies and cool paintball folks (lots of the pros) we encounter.

Happy St. Valentine's Day...

Once More and Again

It has been remarakably difficult to get back in the groove of regular blogging.  I keep making a few faltering steps, but life just gets in the way.  Last year saw us start two new businesses, close one of them, remake the other and try to keep the main operation running smoothly.  As a result, I never really had a solid footing to blog from.  Maybe this year???

Several people have recently asked me to do tattoo designs for them.  I will post some pictures as they give their approval of the final work...hopefully I will have the chance to photograph and/or tape the projects.  I hope to actually have a couple of flash sheets of my work finished before summer (now if any of thh shops will use them...another story).

On the personal tattoo front, the "Wild THings" project is slated to be finished on January 30, 2006.  As soon as it heals, there will finally be photographs and a gallery on this project.  For whatever reason, this one needed to be done without a video or photographic documentary of the process.  Of course, with a project almost finished, my mind is racing towards some new work.  This may be the year to actually have one of my own designs inked into the old skin canvas - we'll have to see.

Stickbugs, you ask?  Once again we have two male Australians that hatched late and are prowling about living fine, long lives without any girlfriends.  The Indians had a very small hatching and they are down to only three or four.  For ease of care,  they are all in together, with the main Australian enclosure resting for the new babies the end of February or early March.  I have taken some time to just enjoy these little beasties instead of constantly photographing them.  Many new ideas for the Sticks gallery will be posted (yeah, haven't we heard THAT before!), so don't go away!

Paintball and Airsoft will be figuring pretty heavy in the blog - unless there is a decision to create a seperate blog for that part of our lives.  Jester Paintball & Airsoft is probably getting a new name - keeping the Jester I designed and making it a little more creative.  Any ideas?  Here is the Jester logo(c)...

Hmmmm...guess that is it (but what about playing bass - your kids - the lovely Miss Penny - you ask?).  More to follow, OK?
